CMD & JELD-WEN wins PRSA Silver Anvil Award for 2008 Campaign!

Pb220168m1300The PR team at CMD, and our client and parent company JELD-WEN, has won the PRSA Silver Anvil Award for 2008 for the "Most Reliable Lighthouse Campaign! To see the official press release, visit the CMD newsroom by clicking here.

Jim Crawford, VP of strategy, sums up the great win:

"You have to put this in context. This is THE national organization for PR, and the Silver Anvil is THE award to win. Making it to the “Final Four” was a victory in and of itself, but to actually WIN the award is an incredible triumph for our team against some of the best agencies and biggest brands in the country. It’s basically like getting an Oscar (and the “Marketing Consumer Goods” category that we won wasn’t exactly “Best Translation of a Norwegian Folktale” prize… we’re talking “Best Director” level here, folks…) Just to put this into perspective the other companies which won awards in that group were GlaxoSmithKlein, 7-Eleven, Miller High Life, Staples, and Intuit… couple little brands you may have heard from there.

As we enter a period of economic pressure and uncertainty, it’s important to recognize this as a success not just for the PR team, but for ourselves as an agency and for client JELD-WEN. It gives us a credibility and a proven track record of success that truly showcases the value we bring to our clients."

Now everyone go celebrate!

Can you do this? MUTO a wall-painted animation by BLU

Dropped my jaw when I saw this, maybe you will too. MUTO By Blu.(make sure you turn on speakers for full viewing experience) Props to the artists and their patience levels. Painted on walls in Buenos Aires and Baden over this past winter, the piece features a black-and-white creature that morphs into various blobby forms.

Now that'll fend off Superman.

Hot Dawgs

New_image This spring Jamie Godfrey and I (Julie Ma) volunteered at DoveLewis' Tails and Ales Dog Wash. We washed about 20 dogs and man o' man was it hot and smelly! Can't beat dogs shaking their wet hair all over you in 100 degree weather...but how could we resist their cute faces? No way, no how. The event took place at the Lucky Labrador Beer Hall and we strongly encourage you to get involved with us next year. If you're interested in other DoveLewis fundraising events, come ask us. We love what they do for animals. (click on pics to enlarge)

The Small Stakes

4One of my favorite sites. I've been lucky enough to see many of these things in person (my friend is a collector). Jason Munn takes screenprinting to a new level!
